My throat has gotten into the spirit of Children in Need by coming over with spots. Or rather it's swelled up and got 'orrible white bits in it. Swallowing is a pain in the neck. Literally. So is just about everything though tbh. Urgh.
So between the fact that I'm having trouble breathing and the nagging headache (not heavy, just constant) I'm not really up for much more than reading comics and listening to ISIHAC. Which is what I've been doing. So that's alright then.
I do need to go shopping for more soft things to eat though, since I'm running out of eggs and Heinz Tomato Soup.
Mostly I just want to sleep. Is that such a bad idea?
ETA: Fixed myself up a hot orange and honey drink. Om nom nom. I far prefer the bourbon to the original suggestion of brandy, and over the years we've discovered that vodka is a bit too much and rum is just plain weird, but bourbon is clearly the best in terms of medicinal value and taste.
Plans for this evening:
Cook up enough to keep me going for the rest of the week. SUCCESS!
Snuggle into a warm blanket and doze. Well... I managed the blanket part. Less so the dozing.
Dig out the Hobbit from wherever I've managed to hide it and indulge in my favourite and best method of time-wasting whilst sick. To begin at the beginning... "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit." [...] "'Thank goodness!' said Bilbo laughing, and handed him the tobacco-jar."
Go to bed before 2am. FAIL. 'Though this is mostly to be blamed on the fact that I was finishing off The Hobbit. I was only 20 pages away by 2am, what was I supposed to do? Sleep?! I think not.
